By CB Online Staff

The Puerto Rico Art Museum (MAPR) is gearing up for the opening of an exhibition of works by abstract painter Eric Hayden French.

The exhibition, titled Ten Billion Light Years in Diameter, will kick off with an opening event Thursday evening at the museum in the Santurce sector of the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan. It will run into December 2013.

French, who was born in Indiana but has made his life in Puerto Rico, has been lauded as one the most powerful and original of the artists known as the ’90s Generation (or the Brand New).

The 43-year-old Puerto Rico resident earned his bachelor’s degree at the School of Fine Arts in San Juan before getting his master’s degree at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia.
